I have built an accurate sledge for my 10" table saw to cut classical guitar fret slots but now cannot find a suitable circular saw blade ground to the right size - about .6mm. StewMac have a small blade which is suitable for their fret wire but the arbor bore is too small for my saw. Does anyone know of a supplier of very fine ground blades please?

thanks

Hi Mitch,
Tonetech are working on this one at the moment, we hope to have some in stock in the near future.
What bore size does your machine require?

Dan,

thanks for the reply. Arbor is 16mm using a reducing bush to fit 30mm bore blade (It is a Draper 10" saw table BTS251). So should be able to fit StewMac blade which requires a 5/8" arbor. However their blade is only 6" diameter. Ideally I would like a 16 or 30mm bore blade with a diameter greater than 6" .

thanks

Hi Mitch,
We are sorting out some 154mm blades with 30mm bore as we speak. They will be ground down, unset 7 TPI.
We hadn't intended to put them online for sale until we have our fret slotting jigs ready - but, we can bring this forward if there's enough interest.
This is the most common bore size and fits most of the Dewalt radial arm saws.

It's unlikely you will get a blade greater than 6 inches ground down - due to the peripherel speed and the fact that the teeth are unset, this will just burn the teeth in no time and give you a blunt blade - that's just my assumption, i'm no expert on blades.

Hi, first post from me (I'm in Norway, can I still stay?).

I have the Stewmac blade. I took it to a machine shop and had it reamed out to 20 mm to fit the arbor of my cabinet saw. It works flawlessly.

I had blades made by Atkinson Walker in Sheffield. Mine are 250mm diameter with a 3mm or thereabouts pitch. They will make them to suit your arbor. Yes they are pricey, but they are damned good.
