I have to admit that I felt the same way halfway through my second build. It seemed that for every job I wanted to do, I was missing some tool or other that I simply couldn't live without!

My own way of justifying it was by telling myself that each tool purchase is a one-off expense. They'll pay for themselves in the end and, provided you buy decent tools, will only have to be bought once.

Value for money when building your own? I don't think it comes into it. I've spent the best part of today just hammering away at my latest build. Knowing that something that sounds so nice and doesn't look half bad came out of my own garden shed is a priceless feeling.

And nobody else in the world has got one like yours when you've finished. Pre-CBS Fenders are ten-a-penny!
