Padauk Fingerboard Blank

Guitar fingerboard blank from 1st grade Padauk. Dimensions are 21.25" x 2 7/8" x 3/8" (540 x 73 x 10 mm). This blank is rough sawn ready for planing to size.

Padauk (Pterocarpus Soyauxii) 

A medium to hard wood,whose heartwood is deep orange red when first cut that will age to a richred/orange brown over time.  It ismoderately course grain texture with straight to interlocking grain patterns.It's acoustic properties fall somewhere between Brazilian and East IndianRosewood.  Padauk is widely availablefrom Africa; Cameroon, Zaire, Angola,Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabonand Nigeria.
