Pau Ferro (Machaerium SPP)

Pau Ferro or Santos Rosewood whoseheartwood is pink, yellow, or dark brown in colour and is often striped withred-brown bands. The grain is usually wavy or interlocked and coarse textured.It finishes really well and is used as back, sides, fingerboards, and bridgesfor acoustic and classical guitars.  Thewood is rather coarse-textured. Polishing characteristics are rated as good. Itis widely available from Africa; Congo,Ivory Coast, Zaire, Gabon,Angola, Cameroon, EquatorialGuinea and, Nigeria.
