A two piece body blank of Tulipwood or Poplar. The timber is surfaced and sanded on both sides. Dimensions are 22." x 15.5 x 1.75" (555 x 400 x 46 mm)

Latin/botanicalname - Liriodendron tulipifera

Origin - North America

Tulipwoodis a creamy white colour and may be streaked with the heartwood varying frompale yellowish brown to olive green. The green colour in the heartwood willtend to darken on exposure to light and turn brown. The wood has a medium finetexture and is straight grained and has an appearance similar to that of Maple.

Aversatile timber that is easy to machine and plane. Recommended for solid/semisolid electric guitars and bass bodies. Tulipwood has been used by the Fenderand Burns London amongst others.
